Numbers are just squiggles and lines
As part of their Rockin' Summer of Discontent, conservatives point to polls showing that Americans don't like the handling of the immigration plan and, therefore, the President had better start listening to them or they're never going to vote for him ever ever ever infinity again... if he runs for something like Crawford Town Drunk.
The ABC News/Washington Post poll found that among all Americans, only 29 percent approve of the way Bush is handling the immigration issue. That’s the lowest Bush has ever been on the issue in the survey. The implication here is that the President and Congress had better start heeding the will of the people or there will be hell to pay.
Oddly enough, these rules don't apply to other things:
"Do you approve or disapprove of the way Bush is handling the situation in Iraq?"
Approve 31%
Disapprove 67%
Unsure 1% For this it is full speed ahead.
