Nitpicker
(More stuff...down there)
I'm glad to see that Victor Davis Grandpa Simpson Hanson is finally admitting that the Republicans have done something terribly horribly very bad day wrong. It takes a big man to admit the mistakes of others. So, after admonishing us "crazy ...rowdy ...rabid ...crotchety ...angry ...sladerous ...unhinged ...clinically mad ...clueless ...foaming ...uncontrollable ...pathological hysterical ...savage ...crude ...unruly ...scapegoating ...frustrated" liberals and Democrats and media types for coarsening the debate, he takes out his offical Headmaster's Ritual Paddlingboard™ and applies a solid whack to the pasty-white buttocks of the Republican party. He points out that they're "inept" and (in the parlance of our Commander in Chief) "wrongdoers", and he proves his point with unduly harsh examples of these sins by casting his cold dispassionate historians eye over the past six years of governance and reaching these conclusions:To compensate, leftist pundits, billionaire philanthropists and politicians, from current officeholders to ex-presidents, work to ensure that isolated moments of Republican ineptness (George Bush strutting on a carrier deck in his flight suit) and wrongdoing (repulsive e-mails from a perverted Congressman Mark Foley) blare out as the only issues of the day. As you can see, this is also a failure on the part of liberals, Democrats, and the media because we seem to have totally disregarded mentioning the Iraq war, Katrina, the social safety net, torture, womens rights, the high cost of health care, the budget, saving Social Security, the minimum wage, and naughty Halloween costumes during this political season.
Jesus. We can't get anything right...
(Added) The real Nitpicker shows that Victor Davis The Dog Ate My Notes Hanson is a little sloppy with his research. He must be using Jesse Malkin as a research assistant. He's got a history, y'know...
