loud, fateful rap on the door of my undoing
As has been pointed out on assorted blogs (that wonderful creation of Joe Lockhart & Co.) Joe Lieberman will be launching his new improved unhackable blog tomorrow, and the feeling is that they are hoping for lots of "unhinged" comments from deeply unserious terrorist-loving, cut-n-running purgeofascists because that kind of thing makes Joe sound as sensible as taking an umbrella on a cloudy day, at least when he's not telling us that things in Iraq are swell. This would seem to make sense since Lieberman's mouthpiece Dan "Sunrise/Sunset" Gerstein's only contribution to the campaign (besides providing comic relief) is to point out how much people dislike his weasely boss, as if that were a selling point. The whole thing strikes me as a bit masochistic, as if Joementum can only result from pointing out the public's antipathy towards Joe which, strangely enough, manifested itself in his primary defeat. In fact, Lieberman seems somewhat liberated by his loss to Ned Lamont.
