Failing to even consider that the Capitol policeman just didn't recognize her, and she was not wearing her special lapel pin that would have identified her as a member of Congress, Rep. McKinney does what comes natural, she goes to fisticuffs. You can take the woman out of the ghetto, but . . .
update 3/31/06: And after a couple days to think things over. She feels there is no apology due for her assault and battery on a policeman. Only she knows if the officer's race has any bearing on her obstinate, immature behavior. Yup, can't get the ghetto out of the woman.
