Being pro-life has been political death for any Democrat with national aspirations. Many on the left are unable to even contemplate a legitimate argument against legal abortion.
The satirical weblog "BlameBush!" recently seemed to speak for some abortion activists when it opined that "we must protect a Woman's Right to Choose and err on the side of inhumanity."
Which unfortunately captures the problem with the pro-abortion lobby: it does err "on the side of inhumanity." That is a strange position for a party that claims to speak for the poor and disadvantaged.
A fetus is not a tumor or parasite, but a genetically unique developing human at most nine months away from full physical independence. More to the point for Democratic politicians, polls find an eight point margin for the pro-life perspective.

Yet, complained the author, "the anti-choice crowd still insists on referring to the damned thing as a 'baby.'"
Nevertheless, wrote the blogger, the obvious human characteristics of the fetus don't "make it any more human than a baby-shaped intestinal parasite." Thus, "we must protect a Woman's Right to Choose and err on the side of inhumanity." That's precisely the problem with the pro-abortion lobby: it errs "on the side of inhumanity." Which is a strange position for a party that claims to speak for the poor and disadvantaged.
Of course there is no disclaimer that the column was re-written after he was found out which seems to me to be a lapse in journalistic ethics that should require the appointment of a committee to investigate followed immediately by the public execution of a few of the editors at both Copley Press and Townhall and also proves that the MSM is so yesterday because it's full of dinosaurs and it also reinforces the notion that bloggers totally rule the universe and should get all of the hot chicks.
But that's just my opinion.
