It must be Missing the Point Day
Chalk it up to willful misunderstanding (see below) or only reading every other word but bloggers are setting land speed records while shooting past each other. I hate getting into these 'defend yourself' posts because they imply that the other guy has a case, but I thought I might clarify something I posted.
Michael Totten (yeah, that guy) writes:
The left-on-left cat fight won't be over any time soon.
T-bogg (a most impolite person) is still banishing moderate liberals as heretics, in this case Andrew Hagan. Today Andrew praises Hillary Clinton, but that's not good enough for T-bogg. Oh no.
He thinks if someone isn't 100 percent left-wing today then they have never been liberal. Like Stalin airbrushing Trotsky out of history, T-bogg says today’s dissident liberals were also right-wing in the past.
From there he moves on to some sarcastic comments (that he really doesn't have a talent for), so let's go back to Hagan. I haven't read Hagan's post on Hillary. I have no reason to go back to Hagan's blog. After reading his crapulent no-fact post on the so-called "paleoliberals" I filed his blog under Not Even Interesting For The Annoyance Factor. Like the "Liberal Media", the "paleoliberal" who does:
not think that any of the following are particularly important: leadership, courage, honor, religion, civilization, culture, tradition, responsibility, the English language, or history.
…is a myth, a fake, a fraud. I could call it a straw man, but since that term appears to be forbidden, I'll call it what it is: crap. I don't think that Hagan is a heretic, I just don't think that he's very smart. There's a difference.
Getting back to Totten, my beef with him is his constant "the party is leaving me behind" mewling. He's so wrapped up in the war-war-kill-the-Islamofascists-before-they-destroy-my-way-of-life swill that the administration is selling that he's not only drinking it, he's having Sparkletts deliver it in five-gallon bottles. If he supports the war, fine. But while supporting the administration's foolhardy attempt at reshaping the Middle East, he is giving tacit approval to their assault on the environment, workers rights, and on a woman’s right to choose. He is allowing them to hand out huge tax cuts to the rich while impoverishing our children. He agrees with the insertion of government-sponsored Christianity into our secular society. He thinks packing the courts with Federalist Society judges is a good thing.
All of these things are being done under the Support the President cover.
And supporting this President isn’t 'liberal heresy"...it’s suicide. And, sorry to be impolite, it’s also very stupid.
