Young, dumb, and not ready to run

It looks like K-Lo is starting to have some doubts about the future Mr. Kathryn Jean Lopez. At 10:21am:
I don't know that people believe that he was "deeply opposed" to abortion prior to running in Massachusetts, even if they believe that he might be now. (Someone who was "deeply opposed" to abortion made a deeply disturbing choice saying some of the things he did during those state runs.) I think he'd be better off saying he simply didn't fully understand his political responsibilities to protecting the unborn and fighting for a culture of life prior to being in office as governor. He was wrong and missed some real opportunities and he's determined to make up for lost time.

One might suggest that Romney should have maybe paid his dues in a lesser capacity (city councilman, assistant trainee city manager, village elder) before making the Great Leap Forward to governor, but men like Romney who are born on third base don't just want a bite of the apple, they want the whole damn orchard. A half-hour later K-lo admits to finding Romney wanting (but unfortunately not wanting her) but she does have a most excellent suggestion:
I think he needs a Cheney-like veep. Someone with some real policy experience and weight (and a movement-conservative type at that). Would ease some of the concerns of people who want his businessman's and executive's experience but worry that there may be too much relative newness to the political (and conservative) world there.
Which may be easier than you think since Dick Cheney has given no indication that he intends to step down with half of the world yet unbombed.
