Doing some reading.
I've curtailed some of my regularly scheduled blogging because:
1) I've been sick which makes me grumpier than usual. That and the fact that the neighbor is having a new garage built, which can only mean one thing: construction guys listening to 'classic rock' radio. Is there any reason in the world why any radio station should still be playing Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead or Alive? Also, on the subject of music, I had the opportunity to buy the Radiohead's Hail to the Thief for $9 the other day...and passed. I know that they are everyone's critical fave, but I just can't do Radiohead. I predict that ten years from now, Radiohead fans will put on OK Computer and think "What the hell was I thinking?".
2) I'm getting some reading done...again. Currently getting into Crabwalk (which is shaping up to be the longest 200-page book I have ever read) by Gunter Grass, with Jane Smiley's Good Faith on deck. Waiting on the bench flexing its muscles....Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy. I'm not particularly interested in Hillary Clinton's Living History, but I'll probably buy it just to piss off the wingers. She is slated to come to Warwicks in La Jolla in August and I think an autographed copy would be pretty cool.
