Ah yes....Commando-tarianism, the 'flapping in the wind' religion.
Deep thinker, Ricky Martin:
His first album in English, "Ricky Martin," which featured "Livin' La Vida Loca" and the frothy "Shake Your Bon-Bon," sold more than 15 million copies. But he packed up his signature cheek-shimmy in 2000, soon after the release of "Sound Loaded," his second album in English.
"I was burnt out and really tired," says Martin, 31. "I had spent two years on an intense concert tour, and I felt I didn't have to prove anything at that point.
"I got tired of the glamour, of the limos and the private jets. All of that makes you lose perspective," he says.
"Performing on stage and having people idolize you and tell you how good you are creates this grandiose feeling, and you have to be careful.
"I just needed to take the time to decide what I wanted to do."
During his two-year hiatus, Martin says he took up skydiving and spent a month in India "visiting my gurus."
"I transform when I'm there," says Martin, a student of several religions, including Buddhism. "I wear a [robe] and turban and let my beard grow, and I forget about things like wearing underwear."

"There is a maturity and intimacy to this album that's quite different from the raucous, high-energy pop songs he's had success with," says Sylvia Martinez, editor in chief of Latina magazine.
"There's this kind of post-'Vida Loca' serious quality to him now," she says. "Ricky definitely seems more introspective, and that comes across in the music."
"post-'Vida Loca' serious quality". I like that. It's sort of like that "post-Ice Ice Baby" quality that Vanilla Ice has.....
